County Updates

The Charlotte County area consisting of Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, Cape Haze and Murdock is feeling the pinch of the current foreclosure market. Although appreciation was very high in these markets just a few short years ago they presently have devaluated far below last acqusition cost. Charlotte County is presently one of the markets in which you can obtain a property at a great price when compared to its past value. Our real estate agents specialize in short sales and foreclosures in this area.

Sarasota County area has also been decimated by the current market. The areas hardest hit are the North Port, Venice and Sarasota (main city) area. The preforeclosure rate in this area is very high as well as short sales. Although Sarasota is suffering from the devaluation it's not quite as bad in most areas as its southern neighbors Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties.

Lee County is one of the hardest hit areas in the United States and was top of the list for many months in 2007 as well as 2008. Cape Coral, which is one of the main cities in Lee county was number one in the US for many, many months and the devaluation in that market is among the worst we've seen during this recession we find ourselves in. Fort Myers is also a city in distress however the decline there, although strong is still not as severe as it's northern neighbor Cape Coral.
